Blogging experience

1. At the end of this experience, it will be the first time I have difficult to find the words to express how I feel or I want to say. Since I started to write every week, less those days we were on a strike, I have found a very interesting thing about myself: I like writing, I really enjoyed thinking in the way the words get out of my mind and fill a blank page.

Really I have fun, but it was difficult, writing wasn't a easy process, specially if I can't write in my native language. First, my text must be structured. It takes too much time thinking how I could say my ideas. Second, it was really hard to find the right words because could sound weird in english. Also I had to face the problem of the spelling. I know the words, but I wasn't sure about if would be its correct spelling. Definitely, the dictionary was my best friend in those moments.

2. However, it was very useful. I learn new words, and the same time, there were words just I knew it and I understand its meaning better. On the other hand, I had the opportunity to refresh my knowledge about english's grammar. Regarding grammar, I realized there a lot of things I can't remember. For example, I forgot the cases I can apply this complex form: infinitive verb + have + participle. When I came back home I will look for those old notes.

The point is I learn new things and I realized I don't know about other things too. In my opinion, in an educative process that is very positive.

3. For that reason I can't find some defect in the fact we have to make blogs. Even, I believe is better because in classes we didn't participate in the same way, so it's more equal writing words and very more useful in our future professional life.

The best in your area: Enrique Barros Bourie.

It's him, he is the master, Mr. Enrique Barros Bourie. In my opinion, he is the best jurist and lawyer of Chile. His reputation like attorney and arbitrator don't have a point of comparison.
He's the first partner of his own legal firm called "Barros Letelier & Company". In this studio, he knows lawsuits about contracts, business planning; antitrust, arbitration, civil litigation.
However, he's not only a successful lawyer, he has an outstanding career like judge. Four years ago, he was Deputy Justice of the Supreme Court and actually he's arbitrator of the Arbitration Center of Santiago’s Chamber of Commerce and ICSID. Two years ago he was the judge of the conflict between the companies of Transantiago, AFT and Sonda.
His successful career doesn't stop there, he is the President of the Chilean Bar Association and since 2007 he is Adviser to the Center of Public Studies (or CEP).
The best for me, he's professor of civilian law in my University and he wrote a masterpiece called "Compendium of the Tort Law". This work is one of the most important books of chilean law in the last time. Also he had written approximately 100 articles in private, commercial and constitutional law. The way he writes is very detailed and clever. I like very much to read him.
The most admirable thing of him, he is a very nice person. People that work with him said he's kind and "a good boss". Also, he inspires to his students, many of his pupils are professors too and have successful careers.
He is fond of art and speaks four languages: French, german, english and spanish).
It's clear the reason why I chose him because he's an eminence with a nice personality.

School kills creativity

In a conference in Monterrey, Sir Kevin Robinson gave a chat about a huge defect of the education: the absence of creativity.
He says something very interesting and certain, all countries prefer math over arts. If they teach arts, prioritizes drawing over dance. His point was education system develops intellectual habilities, but not motor skills.
He said that, since kindergarten, all educational public systems are "a entire process to the University's entrance". The idea seems to create professor’s university. However, that system doesn't work anymore. We didn't need so many illustrated minds. We need more creative people, just like artists.
He put a example, Gillian Lynne, who is the choreographer of "Cats". In school, she had bad grades and misconduct, so headmaster talked with her parents and ask to move another school because Gillian had "concentration problems". Worrying about her cognitive defects, they consulted with a doctor and he said simply "she is a ballerina" and he advised to enroll in a dance school. They followed the advice and actually she is multimillionaire.
Sometimes, a traditional career is not the only way to get money and to be successful, but our relatives say the opposite. I have a cousin with that problem, she wants to be a painter, but actually she is studying engineering. Her parents scared her telling she would be poor if she become a artist.
That is not my case, but I feel frustrated I didnt learn music well in the school. It's boring do not understand a piece of classic music. So, when I became mother my children will learn many interesting things like music, drawing, martial arts and sports.
It would be good if government realizes bodies and social skills are important in our education too, like Sir Kevin Robinson did it.

The unknown rebel

I like very much the photographs. It's a instant on the life that will live forever. We keep our memories in them. Also we recorder important events of the history, full the emotion and drama, just like "The unknown rebel".
The photograph was taken by Jeff Widener, a day after the Tian'anmen's mass killing in June 5th of 1989. The filmography and the picture caused a international huge impact and was prized by the world press photo's association.
The image shows a resolute man who firmly stands up in front a tank's file. Without afraid, he is trying to stop the machine's advance.
Every time I saw this photograph I feel a strong emotion. For me, "The unknown rebel" is a portrait about the fight against the tirany and the opression. The only thing we need to confront the excess of authority is a strong determination, just like this admirable man.
Actually nobody knows who is him and what happened to him. Chinese authority's said he is alive, others have said he still could be a prisioner in jail, but the most accepted theory is he was tortured and he died.

Studying law

1.- Since four years ago I'm studying juridic sciences. When I start thinking in the past and I try to remember the reasons why I'm here, only I could say "I failed maths 1". While I was getting my bachelor's degree I couldn't pass this subjet, so I didn't have the chance the study comercial engineer. I know, this story is so typical. Ironically, when I chose for that poor reason I had the opportunity to fill a dropped dream. When a was a child I wanted to be a lawyer, but horribles stories about the profession made to change my mind.

2.- Actually I'm not afraid the critics about the lawyers. People said lawyers are thieves with a tie. They don't have a good opinion about the labour of judges and prosecutors neither. For them, we are all corrupts and crooks. I respect their point of view, but I disagree.

It's not than easy to get justice. The meaning of the justice is a subjetive concept, especially when there are two parts in conflict, and, one of them lose. Furthmore, it could be more difficult understand the existence of justice if none of them win. Our ideal is that every judgement would be fair, even the defeated part recognize that judge's decision was fine.

For that reason, we don't make justice, we apply rules. We study laws and reglaments with the purpose to know wich is the right behaviour in the society accord our juridical system.

4.- Unfortunately, law is complex and we can't know all the rules. We need specializes in a specific area, like property and criminal law. My favourites subjects in this career are procedure and tax law. There both required to learn very specific rules for every specific fact.

3.- Also, actually there a lot of lawyers and competition between us increased. So, we need adicional educational programmes, like MBAs and languages courses too, specially english. The most prestigious law firms ask for them during the searching for their new workers.

It will be hard, but I chose my path without regrets. I want to be a capable professional to defend the client's interests and to have the satisfaction I am a good and trustworthy professional in my area, an another words, to have the skills to determined the correct aplication of the rules on the particular case and to applied the best strategy in order to win the trial.

Capital legal v/s La Tercera.

I must be honest I never think about these topic before. I always read web sites have got connection with economic, educational, political and legal issues.I think read about these topics because let me know very useful things, like the logical of the power, the market's rates or the actual discussion in the Congress or human behaviour, etc...
Also, reading about that I can know who are the most powerful and influential men of Chile, especially who are the best lawyers of the legal services' market. About that, last year it was a surprise to me to know Ricardo Claro, one of the most important businessman of the country, was a lawyer who defendes human rights too. When happened his death, papers and magazines publicized his biography. The biographys I liked most were in Capital's magazine and La Tercera's newspaper.
"La Tercera" is a very useful newspaper. There a lot news ang blogs of people who have a lot of information about an area of the knowledgement. I like very much to read their columns because they really have the hability to analize the reality from another point of view Unfortunately, this website is not about the law's world exactly.
I think the Capital's magazine can be filled best the requirement of my script. They have a section called "Capital Legal". There are very interesting legal issues. They write about the last trends of the legal areas in Chile. However, it's not my favorite web page, I like more to read "Tendencias", a part of " La Tercera", that have some articles about Human Behaviour. In my opinion is important to know human nature too, besides law.
So, for me it's difficult to say which of them is my favorite career-related web site. I wish to write more, but I just have to go to study.
We'll see you soon.
Victoria.

Mp3 saves mi life!!!

Mp3 is my favourite piece of technology because let me work very well. I got it three years ago, it was a Christmas's day. It's very useful, I can listen to music, study and record classes. It's excellent, I like it very much because I can concentrate while studying, I don't have to listen noisy sounds around, and second, let me record classes, so I can take note better than I do directly. It's great, The best thing I have it in my life. I use Mp3 every day, but unfortunately I don't have one actually because was broken. The life without him is boring and difficult. I can't listen music while take the bus. I'ts hard to get concentration while studying and I must to ask my classmates if they can record the classes.
